Spazio by Franco Pepe in Province of Sassari

"The location is exceptional and the service is of a very high standard. We enjoyed it a lot! However, when expectations are very high for the pizza chef's name and reputation (we already visited Franco Pepe in Caiazzo, Napoli), perfection is expected. The pizza (Margherita Sbagliata) was overloaded with mozzarella, to the point that it hardened quickly. The tomato sugo is very bland and lacking of salt, by choice of the pizzaiolo, but in my opinion this is a little pitty. A normal good Neapolitan margherita remains superior. The Scarpetta is amazing though, but remains loaded with cheese and very heavy. This was not the case in Caiazzo at Franco Pepe's original Pizzeria. All this for €30 per pizza, which, in a top-notch location and with impeccable service, would demand perfection."
